We took the Boy to a "Sibling Class" at the hospital a few weeks ago. It included a tour of the nursery and the floor where the moms stay. We were supposed to go into one of the rooms, but we were told they were all being used. This didn't come as a surprise since the nursery was jam packed with itty-bitties. Tonight during my NST I asked the nurse if things were still as busy as they were a week ago. She said it was crazy busy. At one point all 8 labor and delivery rooms were being used and they had 2 extra women laboring in recovery rooms. She also said that the entire maternity ward was full and that they had to use other parts of the hospital to accommodate them.
Well, that may be fine for those ladies who decided to just drop in unexpected. I mean really, how much hospitality can you expect when you just show up without an invitation?
I, however have a booking for 9/14 at 8:30 a.m. I've been in the books for weeks. I was "personally invited" by my OB to be there at that time. I certainly hope that secures my reservation. I'm wondering if I should call and request a specific view. At the very least I should have room service.
Hubby and I were trying to figure out the cause of the sudden Baby Boom. Subtract nine to ten months and you've got a whole lot of spiked eggnog and holiday parties gone wild. Makes sense.
