Very. Very. Tired.
Yeah, I've heard the advice, "Sleep when the babies sleep." It's not so easy to do that when you have a preschooler as well. Also, I have never been a fan of napping during the day. It makes me feel dazed and confused for the rest of the day. So basically we get the sleep the girls grant us during the night and hope it's enough to get us through the daylight hours.
I "thought" I was doing OK sleep wise. That was until this afternoon.
With the girls fed, changed and sleeping and with one hour until the Boy needed to be picked up from school I decided to address the fuzzy caterpillar known as my eyebrow...yeah, that's right, I wrote eyeBROW in the singular form of the noun. Enough said.
For those of you who have had an eyebrow wax you know the drill. For those who have not had the experience it involves having hot wax put onto your flesh only to be ripped off as hair is violently pulled from the cuticle. Then the stray hairs that escaped the wax are then painfully plucked one by one so as to induce prolonged torture. Sound fun yet?
So...just how tired am I you wonder?
I fell asleep while this was happening. Mouth open, full on REM sleep! There may have been drool involved.
Sure, it is a tad bit plausible in a fancy salon where instrumental harp music plays, candles are lit and aromatherapy fills the air as you lay on a soft bed-like thingy in a darkened room. But that's not where I was. I was at the mall. In one of those "salons" where recent beauty school graduates start their careers. There was flourescent lighting. Beyonce was blaring. I could smell the food court. I wasn't even comfortably reclined, but rather had my head hovered backwards over a ceramic sink.
Needless to say I am tired.
The positive side of this story is that I was out of the house, dressed and I now have TWO arched, manicured eyebrows. This is a big improvement from the weeks following the birth of the Boy. I'm pretty sure we spent at least a month in PJs eating PB and J without leaving the house when he was born.
